Tourists with children travelling to Austria not only enjoy the historic buildings, incredible architecture, interesting sights and natural beauty, but also look for places where children and teenagers can relax. One such place in Salzburg where the whole family can enjoy themselves is Fun Arena Salzburg.
It is an indoor amusement park for children and adults. There are almost no limits to the entertainment and games that can be played in the 500 m2 playground. It's worth noting that the local entertainment is designed for visitors of all ages. Unlike other similar centres, where parents sit bored on a bench while the kids have fun, Fun Arena Salzburg offers recreational activities for dads and mums too. Adults will also want to have a go at air hockey or try their hand at the climbing wall.
The Fun Arena Salzburg focuses on active play with all kinds of slides, climbs and even a climbing wall. This is the perfect place for young super active people to release all their energy and train their dexterity, strength, courage, endurance and coordination of movement.
The Fun Arena Salzburg consists of several areas, each with different attractions and games.
Hoppolino
This area is suitable for children up to the age of 12. There is a playground with soft structures, a softball shooter and a net bridge, a net maze and several slides (Trumpet, Kamikaze and the two-lane Wave slide). Three giant trampolines allow young acrobats to fly to the ceiling and compete to see who can jump higher.
Kids will love the bouncy castle, the soft ball pool, the giant Lego blocks that can be used to build a mini city and the wall of moving slides. The Hoppolino even has a bowling alley for the little ones. Everything is designed with safety in mind. For example, the floor is covered with a special carpet that makes the surface soft and non-slip to prevent children from getting hurt.
The children's area is adjacent to the local cafeteria, so parents can relax in comfortable chairs and watch their children play. The Hoppolino also has a changing table for mothers with babies.
HiT iT!
HiT iT! — is an interactive obstacle course and a great agility trainer. You can run the obstacle course on your own or in competition with others. Competitors can time their run in real time and wear RFID wristbands on their hands as they enter the obstacle course.
The challenge is to complete as many challenges as possible in a given time while scanning them with the RFID wristband. The more difficult the challenge, the more points the player receives.
The area has built-in light targets controlled by a central computer and 'marked' by touchscreens. It is up to the participant to choose the route and the level of difficulty.
To enter the HiT iT! zone and complete the obstacle course, you must be at least 120 cm tall.
Climbing
Bouldering (climbing without protection) and rock climbing are great for developing all muscle groups. It is also a great way to test your strength and endurance. A fascinating game in which you can pretend to be an expert climber conquering the snow-covered peaks of the Ötztal Alps, which appeals to children of all ages (except the very young, of course).
Climbing is an excellent way to develop concentration, which is very useful for active children who find it difficult to maintain their attention for long periods of time. When climbing, a person is fixated only on the summit, on reaching the goal, all his attention is absorbed only in the process of moving upwards.
Climbing walls can also be used for competitions, where people race up the wall or just climb at speed. This is a fun family competition — it is not only entertaining, but also has an important psychological effect. Family competitions create an atmosphere of togetherness between all family members, building trust, support and a close emotional connection.
Café and games room
The Fun Arena Salzburg also has a separate arcade area. Visitors can play table football, air hockey and billiards. A token costs €1.
Next to the arcade is a café where you can enjoy a coffee and a croissant or a hearty lunch between activities or after the games. The menu includes pizza, main dishes (e.g. chicken soup with croutons), various types of pasta, meat dishes (cutlets, sausages, nuggets, etc.), salads, various drinks.
Next to the Fun Arena Salzburg is the restaurant Anniva, which offers a wider range of dishes and even a special children's menu.
Birthday Parties
Fun Arena Salzburg is the perfect place to celebrate a child's birthday or any other event. Children between the ages of 3 and 12 can have a party here. Parents and the birthday child do not have to pay an entrance fee; only the guests invited to the party need tickets for the Fun Arena. The minimum number of guests is 10.
