Paloma Park

Paloma Park

Spain, Benalmadena

It is not for nothing that Benalmadena is listed among the best resorts of the Costa del Sol:

  • The sea is clean here.
  • The beaches are excellent.
  • There are many family entertainments.
  • There are enough green areas for a walk.

Of course, the main green area is Parque de la Paloma, which combines the features of a zoo, a place for walking and a playground for children's games.

One has only to turn off the seafront into Paloma Park, as the noise level will immediately decrease and the heat will cease to bother. But it turns out that only some people are walking along the alleys. Not at all embarrassed, peacocks walk along the paved paths, rabbits jump on the lawns, and in the shade of palm trees, the most ordinary chickens dig in the ground and peck at something.

The reservoirs of the park are also densely populated. Geese, ducks, and swans swim there; you can see fish and turtles. But all these living creatures will willingly give up their occupations and hasten to you if you come to the park of Benalmadena with refreshments. By the way, the animals in the enclosures are also ready to help themselves — mountain goats and ostriches.

However, Paloma Park (Parque de la Paloma) in Benalmadena is not only convenient for animals. Locals and tourists love to relax in this place and have picnics. Fidgets can rent a bike to get around the park and explore all the recreational opportunities. For example, on the territory of Paloma, there is a fountain where races of radio-controlled boats are held on weekends.

A great playground has been built for children, consisting of two parts. The two parts are connected by a mesh tunnel built over the footpath. While the kids expend their energy on the slides, parents can sit on the benches in the shade of the trees.

The park greenery is also the backdrop for contemporary art. If you're not a fan of modern sculpture, look no further than the cacti that adorn the park. The Parque de la Paloma has three cafes and several children's attractions next to it.

The park can be visited daily, but at least one visit should be combined with a visit to the Selwo Marina Dolphinarium. In addition to dolphins, there are sea lions, penguins, flamingos, monkeys and exotic reptiles.
