It would seem that relaxing with a child in Mallorca on the shores of a crystal clear sea, there is no need to go deep into the island. Meanwhile, the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, far from the sea, is so picturesque that it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 1986, Reserva Park was opened in the mountains of Mallorca. The paths winding between the hills will lead you to a waterfall, a mountain lake, or even take you to the top, from where you can see the endless expanses of the sea. Children will meet with animals in a mini-zoo.
It is not necessary to be an experienced tourist to walk around the reserve. It is enough to wear comfortable shoes and follow the route. The path will indicate the direction; you only have to admire the untouched nature — slender pine trees, ivy-covered rocks, and mossy stones. On the La Reserva de Puig de Galatzo territory, there are about 30 waterfalls, and you can cool off in streams and lakes on a hot summer day. In addition, the park has an outdoor shallow pool.
Animals and birds roam among the greenery of the park. Some peacocks, rabbits, ponies, and sheep can be hand-fed. Large animals are kept in cages. But the fence is skillfully disguised, so it seems you met a brown bear or a deer in the forest.
The park also has opportunities for active recreation. Here you can fly on a bungee over the tops of trees, climb a rock under the guidance of a professional climber or walk over a rickety suspension bridge. These activities are available to children over the age of 8. Walking through Reserva Park, you can't help but work up an appetite. It's good that the footpath leads to the recreation area, with a cafe and a barbecue area. You can take food with you and sit on the green lawn.
If this excursion in Mallorca impressed you, we recommend taking the old train from Palma to Sawyer and visiting the Alfabia Gardens. These attractions are also located in the Serra de Tramuntana.
