Overview
For high school students with a passion for the outdoors and a thirst for adventure, the Alaska Expedition offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This 30-day journey through Alaska's pristine landscapes is designed for those with previous outdoor experience and a good level of physical fitness. The expedition includes thrilling activities like whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, ice climbing, and mountaineering, set against the stunning backdrop of Denali State Park.
Participants will have the chance to witness breathtaking views of Denali, kayak alongside orcas, and ice climb on the majestic Matanuska glacier. The adventure is divided between "frontcountry" campsites, which offer more amenities like running water and cell phone service, and "backcountry" wilderness locations, where the focus is on immersing in nature without modern distractions.
This program not only enhances outdoor skills but also fosters leadership abilities and maturity. Given the challenging nature of the expedition, participants must demonstrate a high level of responsibility and receive permission from the director to join. For those ready for the challenge, the Alaska Expedition promises an unforgettable adventure that combines adventure, nature, and personal growth.
