Overview

Autism Charlotte: iCan Bike Camp Located at 7100 Statesville Road, Charlotte, NC, iCan Bike Camp (formerly known as Lose the Training Wheels™) is a week-long camp designed to teach children with a variety of disabilities how to ride a conventional two-wheel bike. This national program, hosted by Autism Charlotte, uses adaptive equipment, proven methodologies, and the support of highly trained coaches and volunteers to help children achieve independence on a bike. The camp is part of the broader iCan Shine initiative, which focuses on empowering individuals with disabilities through specialized programs like biking, swimming, and dancing. By the end of the five-day camp, approximately 80% of participants are able to ride independently for at least 75 feet, while the remaining campers make significant progress towards that goal. With a focus on building confidence and fostering independence, iCan Bike Camp provides children with disabilities an opportunity to gain a valuable skill in a fun and supportive environment. If your child is eager to learn how to ride a bike and overcome challenges, this camp offers an incredible experience that combines physical activity with personal achievement.
