Camp Juliette Low

Camp Juliette Low

United States, Clarkston

Overview

Tucked into the rolling hills of north Georgia, this all-girls camp offers more than just a summer escape—it offers a place to grow, challenge limits, and embrace adventure under the open sky. At Camp Juliette Low, girls ages 7 to 17 swap screens for sunsets and sleep in canvas tents, just as generations before them have done since 1922. The camp operates in one- and two-week sessions, with first-time campers encouraged to dip their toes in during a shorter stay. From the start, girls dive into a mix of activities—canoeing, archery, swimming, horseback riding, ropes courses, and even primitive skills. Each day unfolds with a rhythm of choice and freedom, letting campers try something new or sharpen a favorite skill. Two-week campers get a deeper dive. They settle in, form tight-knit groups, and head out for overnight camp-outs, cooking over fires and sleeping beneath the stars. They also take part in out-of-camp hikes and canoe trips, and full-scale camp events like swim meets and talent shows that buzz with energy and camaraderie. Leadership is a key part of the CJL experience. Older teens can join a special three-week counselor-in-training program that continues the legacy of camp founder Juliette Gordon Low, even though CJL is no longer affiliated with the Girl Scouts. Camp Juliette Low isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to belong.
