Overview
An oasis of adventure, faith, and camaraderie, Camp Lake Stephens stands as a cherished institution for over six decades. Its origins trace back to the humble beginnings as one of Mississippi’s very first summer camps. Today, it flourishes as a vibrant part of the ministry of the Mississippi Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, shaping countless lives along the way.
Set against the backdrop of over 400 acres of gentle rolling hills, the camp is a haven of diverse amenities. From a peaceful fishing lake to challenging hiking trails, a tennis court, and an Olympic-size pool, there's something for every young explorer.
As the warmth of summer dawns upon us, Camp Lake Stephens springs to life with a plethora of engaging activities. Whether it's swimming, canoeing, kayaking, archery, rappelling, or high rope challenges, the camp offers enriching experiences that are hard to resist.
Guiding the children through these experiences are well-prepared counselors and staff members, armed with the knowledge and skills to nurture a deeper understanding of Christian community values. All the while, they ensure every camper has a thrilling and safe time away from the comforts of home.
The camp may be rooted in Mississippi, but its arms are open wide to embrace campers from far-off places such as Hawaii, New Jersey, and Minnesota. Irrespective of their religious beliefs, every child is welcome here. For, at Camp Lake Stephens, every child is seen as precious in the eyes of God, and loved just as they are meant to be.
