Overview
Venture into the heart of Maine's Sebago Lake region, where the charming Camp Pinehurst waits to welcome young adventurers. This camp, a hidden gem in the canvas of summer camps, has been satisfying the wanderlust of children for years, and remains faithful to its traditional values.
Stand on the sandy shore of Crescent Lake, where sunsets paint the sky in hues of gold and pink, and that's where you find Camp Pinehurst. Here, the focus is on the great outdoors, with activities like hiking, water sports, and nature exploration taking center stage. But don't think this is all the camp offers. Children will also immerse themselves in competitive and skill-centered activities like soccer, baseball, tennis, and swimming, all meticulously curated by the director.
There's never a dull moment at Camp Pinehurst. The campers, who hail from all corners of the globe, are grouped by their abilities. When the sun reaches its zenith, the lake provides a refreshing respite with children having the opportunity to swim up to four times a day.
But Camp Pinehurst is not just about fun in the sun. It's about adventure! Every fortnight, campers embark on a day hiking trip, challenging peaks like Bald Peak and Rattlesnake Mountain. And as the moon replaces the sun, campers on the three-week program venture on an overnight hiking trip, spending days on the Saco or Crooked river, participating in the sacred Pinehurst "Ucka-Mucka" ceremony.
The adventure doesn't stop there, though. A trip to Funtown USA amusement park awaits the four-week campers, while the five-week campers can look forward to a thrilling whitewater rafting trip on the Kennebec River. Camp Pinehurst, with its blend of adventure and tradition, promises a summer of unforgettable experiences.
