Overview
Infusing the spirit of adventure with the joy of learning, Camp Quinebarge has been a cherished summer haven for kids since 1936. Steeped in tradition, it began its journey as a boys camp, with its sister camp Winnetaska welcoming girls from 1917. The harmonious merging of these two camps in 1975 brought an enriching palette of activities, from dance and music to astronomy and sports, to the picturesque Lakes Region.
Offering a cornucopia of pursuits, Quinebarge allows children to tailor their summer experience, choosing from a vibrant "menu" of activities. Whether it's trying their hand at sailing, taking up a new sport, or delving into the intricacies of arts and crafts, campers have the freedom to explore their passions, and perhaps discover new ones.
The camp's approach is as refreshing as a dip in the lake on a hot summer's day. Highlighting personal growth over competition, it fosters a warm, inclusive environment where success is measured by effort, not the scoreboard. Kids are nudged to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new challenges, but all within a playful, supportive setting.
Quinebarge's charm lies in its close-knit camp family. Here, regimentation gives way to camaraderie, with campers and staff bonding over shared experiences and interests. Whether they're embarking on a backpacking adventure or simply enjoying a peaceful bout of fishing, every moment is a memorable stitch in the fabric of their summer. After all, at Camp Quinebarge, the emphasis isn't merely on activities, but on creating a summer full of fun, friendships, and unforgettable memories.
