Chicago Rowing Foundation Summer Camp

Chicago Rowing Foundation Summer Camp

United States, Chicago

Overview

Experience the excitement of a summer spent on the water with the Chicago Rowing Foundation's immersive rowing camp. Engaging and invigorating, this camp offers teenagers aged 12-17 a chance to master the craft of sweep rowing, a team sport that combines endurance, coordination, and the thrill of perfecting a new skill. Taking place on the scenic Chicago River, the camp provides a perfect blend of land and water-based training. But it's not just about the physical exertion - it's about community too. Here, campers will meet likeminded peers from across Chicago, building friendships as they learn to row in crews of eight. With a focus on mastering the basics, the camp covers essential rowing skills and terms, fostering an understanding of the teamwork and coordination required to succeed as a crew. However, the beauty of this camp is its inclusivity. The Chicago Rowing Foundation is committed to ensuring every camper has a place, and they offer an adaptive program for those with physical and intellectual disabilities. So if you're after a summer of fun, fitness, and friendship, this camp is a fantastic choice. As they say in the world of rowing, "pull together, go far" - at the Chicago Rowing Foundation Summer Camp, you can do just that. Remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single stroke. Please note: The Chicago Rowing Foundation reserves the right to determine the suitability of sweep rowing for each applicant.
