Overview
A breath of fresh air amidst the towering pines, the Conifer Sports Camp is more than just a fun-filled haven for sports enthusiasts. For over half a century, this camp has been the home ground for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), a vibrant community that intertwines the thrill of sports with the teachings of Christianity. The camp’s rich history dates back to 1954, with a vision conceived by Don McClanen, an Oklahoma State University student who saw the potential of sports as a platform to introduce Jesus Christ's teachings in a compelling way. The inaugural FCA Camp was in 1956, and it has since grown into the world's largest sports ministry. The camp activities revolve around baseball, soccer, and softball, but they are not limited to just games and drills. The camp’s mission is to challenge and inspire athletes, coaches, and all they influence to embrace the adventure of accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. This spiritual journey is woven into their relationships and fellowship within the church. The camp’s core values are integrity, serving, teamwork, and excellence, each mirroring Christ's teachings. In the spirit of integrity, campers are encouraged to demonstrate Christ-like wholeness, both privately and publicly. Emphasizing service, participants are urged to follow Jesus' example. Teamwork is valued, reflecting unity in Christ, and in all they do, campers are encouraged to honor and glorify God, embodying excellence. So, if your family loves the thrill of sports and yearns for a deeper spiritual connection, consider the Conifer Sports Camp. It's a place where the cheers of the crowd meet the serenity of prayer, a true testament to the power of faith and fellowship in sports.
