Overview
Dive into a world of music and merriment at Girls Rock! Indy Summer Camp, a haven for young music enthusiasts. This day camp invites not only girls, but also non-binary, gender expansive, and trans youth between the ages of 6 and 16, to strum strings, tap keys, and explore their musical potential.
The traditional Band Camp makes a delightful splash with its week-long intensive crash course. Here, campers aged 9-16, are split into five-piece bands, ensuring a harmonious blend of different ages and skill levels. The camp's innovative band names, Mp3s and Vinyls, add a touch of nostalgia and fun. Camp-goers delve into instrument instruction, songwriting, and musical collaboration, with interactive workshops peppering the journey. The activities are cleverly designed to not just develop musical prowess, but to also boost confidence and leadership skills.
Younger campers, affectionately referred to as "Streamers," aren't left out. A unique program for 6-8 year olds allows them to experience all five instrument tracks, with the week culminating in a Saturday Showcase, where they demonstrate their newfound skills.
And the best part? No prior music experience is needed! All instruments will be provided, making this camp an equal-opportunity platform for all aspiring musicians. With a core focus on personal empowerment through music education, Girls Rock! Indy is truly a captivating symphony of learning, empowerment, and fun.
