Overview
Holt School of Fine Art is a haven for young artists eager to explore their creative potential. Designed for children ages 8 and up, this camp provides a traditional studio environment where budding artists work at easels or drawing horses, learning the foundational skills of drawing and painting that will last a lifetime.
The camp offers a variety of workshops tailored to different age groups and skill levels. From Pastel Bootcamp for ages 8–12 to Acrylic Painting and Introduction to Oil Painting for older students, each session is thoughtfully designed to nurture artistic growth. Beginners can start with pastel techniques, progressing from drawing simple objects to creating vibrant works on artist-grade paper. More advanced students can dive into oil painting or portrait drawing, mastering techniques like gesture drawing and detailed facial features.
For those interested in digital art, the school also offers Digital Oil Painting workshops for ages 12–18, blending traditional skills with modern technology. And for students looking to refine their skills further, there’s even a Figure Drawing class that includes live model studies and anatomy-focused instruction.
What makes Holt School stand out is its emphasis on individualized learning. Each student works at their own pace in a supportive environment that encourages experimentation and personal expression. Whether it’s still life, landscapes, or self-portraits, every project is an opportunity for growth.
Parents will appreciate the balance of structure and creativity that defines the program. The school’s experienced instructors guide students through each step of the artistic process while fostering a love for art that goes far beyond the classroom.
If your child dreams in color and sees the world through an artist’s lens, Holt School of Fine Art is the perfect place to bring their vision to life this summer!
