Welcome to a summer experience that promises to be an adventure of learning, growth, and fun at Miss Porter's School Summer Programs. With its focus on academics, language, leadership, and assorted adventures, this camp offers abundant opportunities to young girls in grades 7 through 10.At Miss Porter's School, participants are invited to dive into two distinct programs: the Daoyun Chinese Summer Program and the Sarah Porter Leadership Institute. The former, an immersive Chinese language program, caters to girls with little or no knowledge of Chinese. This is more than a language program; it's a cultural journey. Mornings are devoted to language instruction, while afternoons brim with activities like Chinese typing, calligraphy, and dance. Evening interactions with other participants weave language practice into the fabric of daily life. And yes, there's also time to explore Porter's athletic facilities, as well as field trips to places like New York City's Chinatown.Alternatively, the Sarah Porter Leadership Institute Level 1 prepares girls to be leaders who can shape a changing world. Through exciting challenges, participants discover their personal leadership style. Activities focus on problem-solving, quick-thinking, teamwork, and trust, and there's also a panel on civic leadership to foster social awareness. Guests speakers, self-defense classes, community service, and a visit to a ropes course provide platforms for personal reflection and goal-setting.Both programs provide a comprehensive experience that addresses all areas of leadership, including compassion, courage, confidence, and maturity.
