Leogang is very popular with relaxed family holidays due to its child-friendly conditions. There are three good ski schools in Leogang. The best known is the traditional Skiszene Altenberger, founded in 1952 by ski pioneer Sepp Altenberger. This ski school has two areas specially designed for children.
The school boasts a high level of instructor training and the courses are productive. In addition to the ski school, snowboarding lessons are available and advanced skiers can improve their carving and off-piste skills. On Wednesdays the instructors hold a spectacular "Ski Jumping" event (KrallerAlm), where they give a spectacular demonstration of their skiing and riding skills.
The children's ski school "Skiszene" offers its students:
- Interesting and exciting lessons for children from the age of four (younger children on request);
- Maximum number of children in the beginners' group: six;
- Maximum number of children in the advanced group: nine;
- 4 hours of daily trainings
- Lunch accompanied by an instructor;
- Refreshments;
- Final competition with awards ceremony;
- Medal, certificate, souvenir to remember the competition.
For children who have not yet learned to ski, the school has a wonderful kindergarten next to the lower lift station. The little ones are taught in the large children's area "Leo's Kindreland", which is located in the sports arena next to the Asitz chairlift.
Kindergarten Leo and Kindergarten Krallis:
- Ski lessons for children from 3 years of age
- Small groups with a maximum of 6-10 children per group (beginners)
- and a maximum of 10-12 children per group (advanced).
- 4 hours of lessons per day (10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 15:00)
- Lunch accompanied by the instructors
- Ski water (raspberry or orange drink)
- Final race and prize-giving ceremony
- Medal and certificate for each child
A team of ski instructors will take care of the youngest children (who can't yet take turns on the snow machine) in the Kinderland children's valley. Don't worry, your children will be well looked after throughout your stay, with or without skis.
The 1.5 hectare area features four 'magic carpets', a merry-go-round, snow igloos, a knight's castle and many other interesting places to keep your child entertained. The Children's World is equipped with snow cannons, so even when the weather is less than wintry, the children can have fun and the lessons take place there.
