The Untertauern Leisure Park covers an area of 11 hectares. This fascinating place is home to around forty wild animals in open-air enclosures.
Children love visiting Untertauern because there is not only a large playground with swings, slides, roundabouts, various ladders, a high observation tower, a cable car, a bungee rope, a sandy building site with diggers, but also a large fish pond called "Fürstenbrunn". There's also a farm with cute animals like ducks, chickens, rabbits, lamas and even beavers.
The large artificial lake, which was created in 2003, welcomes enthusiastic fishermen and lazy sunbathers to its shores. If you come to the Untertauern Nature Reserve at the peak of the summer season, you can enjoy swimming and sunbathing. New pedal boats are also available at the lake's marina.
Fishing is a special feature of the Untertauern Wildlife Park. The Fürstenbrunn pond is home to fish such as brown trout, brook trout, rainbow carp and many more. Fishing equipment such as rods, nets, special food and bait can be hired. Please note that there is a fee to pay before you start fishing and there is also a charge for what you catch.
Catching fish is not the end of this amazing pond adventure, as everything you catch in the pond's waters can be cooked on the spot in Gerhard's local fisherman's hut. Catch as many fish as you can and eat your catch as a friendly group.
For those who prefer recreational fishing to dynamic games, there are also ball fields on the reserve. Football, beach volleyball and lawn tennis — any of these games can be played against worthy opponents who are always ready to keep the merry sporting family company.
