If you are holidaying with a child in the Schladming ski resort, choose one of the days to visit Galsterberg, which is located in the Galsterberg ski area (the valley station of the ultra-modern cable car is in the village of Pruggern). Galsterberg is an area with beautiful, uncomplicated pistes suitable for family skiing.
It has also recently become one of the largest children's ski areas, with a themed village. So what can it offer young skiers?
If your children are crazy about the comic characters Asterix and Obelix, they'll have a great time here. The village is made up of several Gallic wooden huts where the characters live. On skis, you and your child can visit them, meet Asterix, Obelix and the other characters and find out about their daily lives. Most of the characters speak (although they communicate with their guests in German).
In addition to the houses, the village has a two-storey Roman watchtower, an attraction with Gaul figures that can be hit with a snowball to make them talk, wild animal figures and watchmen hidden in the trees, an 85-metre-long 'magic carpet' and even a Gaul rat-track for all the children to sit on. Be sure to take a few photos of the Gallic figures, which look particularly picturesque against the backdrop of snow.
The Gallic ski village is fully accessible — it's equipped on level ground so that even beginners can enjoy it. An exciting children's area and the following activities await you:
- Wild boar hunt in Little Gallier Park
- An 85 metre long magic carpet
- Talking Gallic figures, Gallic wooden huts and giant snow figures
- Gallic snow machine with original sounds
- Reindeer, rabbits and many other forest creatures near the Galsterbergalm lift
- The best view of the children's area from the Bottinghaus terrace
A visit to Galles Village is a great way to diversify your ski holiday with the kids, so don't waste any time thinking about it! This resort tries to surprise young skiers with something new every year.
