Austria, Vienna

Face a dangerous dinosaur, fly through the clouds on a unicorn or a magic carpet, ride a wave on a surfboard, crawl through walls like the real Spider-Man, become a superhero's assistant and fight for justice with him — all this is possible in the illusion world of the 3D PicArt Museum in Vienna.

Visitors to the 3D PicArt Museum can take on the role of model, photographer and author and let their imagination run wild. The result will be visible in the amusing photos that visitors will receive.

The museum's concept is based on 3D installations and photo illusions. Visitors take photos of themselves in front of funny pictures on the walls and the pictures come to life in their hands.

A visit to the 3D PicArt Museum is not only entertaining for children, it is also fun. Where else can they use their imagination and fantasy? Visitors can also develop their acting, directing and camera skills and practice their body language. Local exhibits can be used to explain to children what fake news is, how it is created using similar illusions, and why they need to develop critical thinking skills.

A visit to the 3D PicArt Museum is a great way to have fun as a family, celebrate a birthday or take a date out. This interactive gallery of selfie installations is a good place to spend 1-2 hours. The tour takes about 90 minutes, during which time visitors can take at least a hundred fun photos.

The 3D PicArt Museum features 40 photo locations with a variety of themes. For example, you can find yourself on a plate as a main course, discover your angelic self and walk on water with wings at your back, find yourself in a toxic waste swamp with skeletons clawing at your feet, fend off an attack from a dinosaur or saber-toothed tiger, or even sit on a rocket and explore outer space.

There are also fun and fast-paced installations to set the atmosphere for stag and hen parties, which are particularly popular with visitors over the age of 18.

Each exhibit is accompanied by a marker — the point from which the best photo angles are taken. There is a small manual with instructions and examples of the pictures that can be taken by interacting with the exhibit. Museum staff is always on hand to help visitors, explaining how and in what pose to take pictures, and can also take pictures of a group of visitors with their smartphones and cameras.

The museum is fully air-conditioned. It's pleasantly cool in the summer, but visitors won't get cold feet in the winter as it's quite warm inside.

The museum has a cloakroom where you can leave your outerwear, bags and other personal items. But beware — the administration is not responsible for the security of the cloakroom's contents.

The museum is on two floors, but disabled people in wheelchairs can only visit the exhibits on the ground floor, as there is no lift in the building. In addition, the 3D exhibits are unfortunately not accessible to them due to the preservation of the photographic backgrounds.
