How many theme parks in Europe can you name? For starters, here's a quick quiz. Disneyland Park Paris, Europa Park Germany, Port Aventura (Spain)...
Three of the biggest parks is a great result! But we have good news: there are a good hundred amusement parks in Europe, and each is worth visiting. Of course, children will express their willingness to see them all. And to help you decide where to start, we've compiled a list of the best amusement parks in Europe.

Tivoli, Copenhagen, Denmark
It's small, a little prim, not full of fancy rides — and so charming is Tivoli Park. We think Hans Christian Andersen himself would have recommended it. Since the park opened in the mid-nineteenth century, it has stood still in the garden and is quiet and peaceful, despite the vast number of visitors. But while you're gazing at the old watermill, don't miss the modern roller coaster and other rides.
Europa-Park, Rust, Germany
The central amusement park in Germany has earned another proud title — it is the largest amusement park in Europe. Fun journeys through the countries of Europe and fairytale lands, themed rides and performances await you. The package includes fun, surprises, and — as if that were not enough — the desire to return. And it's well worth bearing: each year, the park finds new entertaining themes.
Disneyland Paris, Marne-la-Vallée, France
The magic of Disney is for people of all ages, so even parents wouldn't be ashamed to dream of a trip to Disneyland Paris. Oh, this park is in the spirit of Disney's dream world! Favourite characters, great rides, great shows and lots of little pleasures; even the air feels different and smells like fun and adventure. Don't forget about the second park, Walt Disney Studios Park, where the secrets of the movie kitchen are revealed.
Gröna Lund, Stockholm, Sweden
"There are other attractions here too!" — parents tell children who don't want to leave Pettson o Findus Värld and Lustiga Huset, lodges full of riddles and adventures. But there are other attractions, too: merry-go-rounds, roller coasters, various turntables, ghost hotels, laughing rooms and everything else you usually look for in an amusement park. By the way, the children's steam train here puffs like this: "Tuff-tuff!"
Gardaland, Lake Garda, Italy
This park knows the right mix of fantasy, adventure and adrenaline to create the perfect holiday for the whole family. Medieval castles, flying islands, mammoths, pirates — wonder what else you'll see and who you'll meet?
The park includes the Sea Life Aquarium, and this is a vivid example of the implementation of the principle of edutainment (education + entertainment).
PortAventura, Salou, Spain
The PortAventura theme park in Spain is the place to be, even in cooler weather. You will want to go on all the rides, see all the shows and try all the slides in the water park, which can take more than one day. The park has an equal mix of cute kids' attractions and puzzling adults' rides, so everyone is happy here. Daredevils, check out King Khajuna, Europe's highest free-fall waterslide.
Parc Astérix, Plailly, France
Asterix and Obélix, charming red-headed simpletons, quirky French humour and the most beloved forms of entertainment are the keys to the success of this park.
With 36 rides, there's something for everyone: a roller coaster, hot aeroplane ride, river float, or classic merry-go-round. There are several fun shows in the park, and the only performers not wearing Asterix and Obelix costumes are the dolphins.
Walibi Belgium, Wavre, Belgium
Almost half of the attractions in this park are designed for children. This is where ladybirds can fly with passengers on their backs, where the best tree houses are set up, where the uncharted lands are preserved, and where the children's train regularly goes. Teenagers and adults alike can try out the extreme rides and ensure they don't get the name 'Cobra', 'Werewolf' or 'Vampire' in vain.
Efteling Park, Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands
Where do gnomes and trolls live, good fairies and evil witches hide, and where do talking trees grow? In a magical forest, that is, in Efteling Park. Here, as in a fairy tale, children have wonderful encounters, challenges and dangers — but, as everyone knows, "all will be well in the end". Don't miss the Aquanura water show, which is magical.
Futurospoe, Poitiers, France
"The future has already arrived" is a phrase that comes to mind as soon as you enter the park, and even Da Vinci helicopters soaring through the sky won't change the first impression. This is where special effects really do overshadow reality!
You will see that the virtual roller coaster is just as good as the real thing and the robots really can help people. The park has managed to combine entertainment and educational activities, so be prepared to see your children watching and listening with gaping mouths.
