The Scheffau Ski School has a real treat in store for its young students in the form of the huge Kinder Kaiserland Park, which covers an area of 7,000 square metres and is situated at 1,650 metres above sea level. This huge area has everything you need to make learning process interesting, fun and effective.
Throughout the course, the children are accompanied and entertained by the school's cheerful friends, a Penguin, a Polar bear and a Snowman. In between training sessions, the instructors organise short five-minute music breaks.
Lessons start near the ski carousel, where children learn to glide and balance as they go round in circles. A series of conveyors, including the Mini Lift and Zwerger Lift, help little feet rest between descents. After learning how to brake and stop, the child continues their journey through the park on the Grottenbahn conveyor belt, through the snow castle and up to the top, where a series of training courses begin. At the end of the lesson, the little ones can relax with a ride on the fabulous Dragon Express.
For the youngest skiers aged two to four, a special 45-minute MINI-CARVER course is offered at lunchtime, where children can playfully try their first steps on skis on a flat snow surface and learn how to turn and slide down small, gentle slopes.
A special feature is the use of skis specially designed for this age group, which can be put on with normal boots. These skis have rounded, non-sharp edges that are perfectly safe to fall on, and are also very light and comfortable. Mini-carver groups have a maximum of three children. As with most children's ski schools, the instructors look after the children at lunchtime and take them to a special children's restaurant for an additional fee.
