Park area
Bayern-Park is unusual in that it offers tourists a variety of leisure activities. There are areas for quiet strolls with prams, and along the paths are aviaries with animals, some of which can be petted and fed. The park's residents include cloven-hoofed mammals, monkeys, ponies and even wild cats.
Conveniently, most of the attractions are designed for children over 100 centimetres tall, so visitors between the ages of 4 and 12 can enjoy most of them. But there are also options for younger visitors.
For those who prefer a quieter pastime, there are steamboat rides or a leisurely cruise in a beautiful boat on the stream in the palace gardens. The park has new attractions every year, so every visit will be different. And with so many games to play, it's hard for a child to get bored.
If you love water activities, plan a trip to Galaxy Water Park, located 72 km away.
Rides in the park
There aren't many overly extreme rides at Bayern Park. There's a rollercoaster for adults (though there's also a children's version) and a couple of high-flying merry-go-rounds.
The free-riding catapult slides are particularly notable — you can reach speeds of up to 80 kilometres per hour in less than three seconds! A medium range of extreme slides includes water slides, such as those where you descend in a special lily-shaped cabin. Such a slide can accommodate more than one person, making it a good option for a family outing.
Children will love the family fun activities they can take part in with their parents. Not only does it bring them closer together, but it also gives them confidence.
One of these games is 4D Farm, where you have to manage the carrots in order to organise the situation in the virtual farm. Or the Animal Olympus game, where children and adults can answer questions together and learn new facts about animals.
There are lots of merry-go-rounds in the park. The ones that go up and down or spin fast are suitable for adults and older children. The quieter merry-go-rounds or the monorail caterpillars are popular with younger children.
There are several trains on site, but only one runs around the park and past the riding arena.
Children will love the farm themed rides. This is a ride in tractors that travel on a monorail. Adult children can sit in the tractor by themselves, while younger children can sit with their parents.
The list of attractions is long — there is a climbing wall, pedal cars and toboggan slides. The playgrounds on the site are also quite unusual — there are rope mazes, enclosed spiral slides and various types of trampolines.
The park often hosts shows with pirates and birds of prey. Children and adults alike enjoy these shows.
Additional service
There are cafes and kiosks in the park offering a variety of snacks and drinks. Tourists who have been here have found that it's best to go on a weekday. It is less crowded and there are no long queues.
You should also bear in mind that there is a lunch break. Almost all staff go to lunch and many visitors go to the cafeteria. So if you want a quiet meal, try to get to the café before or after the break.
During the break, when the rides aren't available, you can walk around the grounds, play areas and green lawns. The park is great for families and the kids will have a carefree day. There are also two large free car parks, so you can leave your car and walk around the park all day.
