In the hot summer in Barcelona, you don’t always want to see the sights — many would rather lie on the beach. But if an ordinary beach cannot boast a large selection of water activities, then you should go to the open-air water park Illa Fantasia. Here you will find more than 50,000 sq.m. territory of fun and good mood. Although it is located in the suburbs of Barcelona, a free bus will bring you directly to the doors of the water park. The joyful squeal of bathers is heard from afar: hurry to join!
What to expect from a water park called "Fantasy Island"? Of course, slides and pools of all kinds. But the main fun is in full swing in the children's water town "Pirate Labyrinth". Parrots and lizards (fake but very entourage) sitting on the city's roofs watch the kids splashing under the water jets.
In running up the stairs and downhills, the main thing is not to miss the moment when the bucket on the top of the tower fills with water and turns over, dousing everyone nearby from head to toe.
At the disposal of those who most of all like to move down the hill into the pool, there are almost 22 slides. "Fantasy Island" in Barcelona can offer slides for different age categories. It's not easy to choose: the sharp turns of the three Aquamania slides or the crazy turns of the Espiral?
A long smooth descent of the Megatous or a rapid flight from the Ràpids slide? The Kamikazes slide is considered the most extreme, and the Bitour and Minitous rides are the safest, even for children. The Riu Salvatge slide is designed for families on a two-person toboggan run.
After the thrill, you'll probably want to dive into the pool and relax. The Llac pool has whirlpool fountains, while the Piscine D'ones is the pool for those who like to ride the waves. The small Jardí de Les Delícies pool is a favourite with adults and children alike. It looks especially spectacular, lit up by the lights that come on at nightfall.
The Illa Fantasia water park has several restaurants and cafes, mainly serving fast food. There is also a huge picnic area. Note that the water park in Barcelona is also open on rainy days. The entrance can only be closed in case of significant weather deterioration, including a severe thunderstorm. Free parking is available.
