The Costa Blanca is the quintessential summer destination, with beautiful beaches, warm sunshine, a gentle sea and plenty of water activities. To keep your mind off the list of children's hotels on the Costa Blanca that have their water park, choose Benidorm as your accommodation, home to Aqualandia, the largest water park in the province of Alicante.
The first Spanish water park, Aqualandia Benidorm, was built in 1985 in the Sierra Helada Nature Park. Today it covers an area of about 150,000 square metres and has slides and pools for children and adults.
Pleasantly, the younger visitors are not deprived of entertainment. Two extensive shallow pools with slides, fountains and water guns have been created for children — Adventureland and Laguna. Particularly fascinating for toddlers are the elephant statues, which seem to have wandered into the pool for a refreshing dip on a hot day. A parent must supervise children under six years of age.
Trusting the slow-flowing Amazon River is a great way to explore the entire Aqualandia area. Children over 1.25 metres tall can swim among the rocks in the Niagara Pool, splash around in the Geyser Pool or relax under a massage shower in the Grand Jacuzzi Relax Zone with their parents. Another favourite attraction, the artificial wave pool, is also available at this water park.
Aqualandia in Benidorm has eight water slides. The almost steep Big-Bang slide, the Black Hole flight in the dark, the frenetic Rapid speed, the smooth Smooth slide, the steep Zig-Zag turns and the two stunningly steep Verti-Go slides — it happens that the heart goes to the heels only at the sight of these slides. The little daredevils can try out the Mini-Zig-Zag slide and the Splash, a team slide. Teenagers and adults can enjoy the steep or lingering slides.
The Aqualandia water park in Benidorm has several cafés (mainly fast food), ice-cream kiosks and refreshment stands. There is also a picnic area in the park area. Next to the water park is the Mundomar Nature Park. Visits to both attractions can be made cheaper by purchasing a combined ticket.
