Holidays with a child in the Costa Blanca usually fall in summer. At this time, we want to walk more, and parents are looking for children's entertainment in the fresh air. The Mundomar Natural Park in Benidorm invites you to have a great time with the whole family, where you can get acquainted with exotic animals.
The park opened to visitors in 1985. Now it covers an area of about 60,000 square meters, and 80 species of animals and birds live on its territory. The name Mundomar in translation means "Sea World". There is an impressive show of dolphins and fur seals. The park's Dolphinarium seats 1,000 people, and the performance is perfectly visible from any point. But it is better to sit closer if you want to become a spectator and participant in the performance. For an additional fee, you can take pictures and swim with dolphins. The Marine Park is one of two dolphin therapy centres in Spain.
Other colourful shows take place in the park, including one featuring parrots. These birds demonstrate both their colourful plumage and their many talents. The show changes every year so that Mundomar can be repeatedly added to the list of children's activities in Benidorm.
Another feature of this nature park is the opportunity to feed the animals. Even penguins and sea lions can be given a treat. Taking pictures with the animals is another fun activity for children. Heavyweights, like walruses, take their place for a photo among specially prepared decorations. And lemurs don't mind sitting right on a child's shoulder.
You can wander around the park for a long time, admiring nature. There are rock formations, babbling brooks, tropical birds chirping in the trees, fish splashing in ponds, and turtles resting on the banks... The park has picnic areas (you can also eat in the park's cafés and restaurants). If you find the atmosphere too relaxing, head to the playground with your kids, where you can run around and make a lot of noise.
Nearby Mundomar in Benidorm is the Aqualandia water park. You can buy an all-inclusive ticket to save on visits to both parks.
