The Valencian Toy Museum in Ibi is an exciting place not to be left out of your itinerary if you spend your holidays with a child in the Spanish Costa Blanca resort.
The museum was closed for some time but has re-opened its doors to welcome local families with children and tourists. The exhibits in the Toy Museum in Ibi need no introduction. This is what is synonymous with childhood. Dolls, cars, aeroplanes, teddy bears, balls, trains and horses — all this and much more can be admired with your child there.
Today, the museum has an exhibition of some 400 toys. And it's important to note that some of the El Museo del Juguete items are pretty old (some pieces have already celebrated their centenary). Your child will be particularly interested to see what their great-grandparents played with.
The recently opened four-star themed Hotel del Juguete (Toy Hotel) is all about toys and games. Ibi is also famous for its toy factory. Interesting fact: A two-wheeled cart was one of the first toys to be mass-produced in Ibi's factory in the last century. This is a covered wagon pulled by a horse. The antique vehicle has been a symbol of the town ever since. You will surely see this toy at the Toy Museum.
Children enjoy wandering the museum halls, discovering these old toy specimens and marvelling at them at almost every stand or display case. The modern child is used to interacting with gadgets, so wooden dolls or small toy furniture are likely rarities for young princesses today. What can we say about the boys who freeze in front of toy models of cars or mini-copies of the railway?
By the way, the Toy Museum in Ibi is not the only one in the region. You can also visit another Toy Museum nearby, in Onil.
