It happens that small villages turn into tourist centres. For example, just a dozen attractions of the Costa Blanca are located in the village of Guadalest, where only two hundred people live. It is convenient to go here if you are travelling to Benidorm. The most interesting object of Guadalest for men of any age is the Museum of Vintage Motorcycles and Automobiles of Guadalest (Museo vehiculos historicos Valle de Guadalest).
The museum opened to the public in 2003, but its owner has devoted more than 30 years to the search for retro cars. Today, 140 old models of cars and motorcycles made in Spain and other countries are exhibited in the halls.
There are no exhibits relating to the times when a man with a flag had to walk in front of a self-propelled carriage and warn coachmen and pedestrians of the danger. However, the two oldest copies are almost a hundred years old: motorcycles made in France (AUTOMOTO 175 TURISMO) and England (AJS 1922 B1). The remaining samples of the automotive industry belong to the period 1935 - 1980.
The Museum of Historic Automobiles in Guadalest has motorcycles from Bultaco, Ossa, Montesa, Ducati, Vespa, BMW, Harley-Davidson, Peugeot and others. The car collection includes only Spanish models, including the small Iso Isetta.
All equipment is in excellent working order: one or the other exhibit moves out of the museum hall to the street to attract visitors. In addition to cars, the museum exhibits other retro items: radios, telephones, sewing machines, and coffee makers. As a memento of your visit, you can buy a small copy of the car you like or other related items in the souvenir shop.
Suppose mothers and daughters are not interested in cars. In that case, they can devote this time to excursions to the Antonio Marco Dollhouse Museum or try medlar jam in a shop opposite the Museo vehiculos historicos valle. In Guadalest, we also recommend visiting the Museum of Microgiants with children.
