Because the sea off the southern coast of Spain is quite cold, a vacation program with children in the Costa del Sol must necessarily include a trip to the water park. If you're holidaying east of Malaga, dip in the warm pools of the Aquavelis water park in Torre del Mar. In addition to the usual beach fun, playground games and water slides will be added here.
Note that the beach occupies a good half of the water park. It is partly equipped with sun loungers and parasols, but many visitors prefer to sunbathe on their towels.
After enjoying the sun enough, you can swim in the Lago and Piscina de Olas pools. In the second of them, artificial waves rise — they say it looks like real surf in the ocean. You can also join aqua-zumba training — this type of fitness is trendy in Spain.
Children in Aquavelis have pools near the beaches and cafes: it is more convenient for parents to combine relaxation and watching their children. The Mini Zone features brightly coloured soft slides, and the Aqua Splash is a play town with a waterfall falling from its highest point.
Next to Aqua Splash is the Espiral slide. Its 'wonders on the bends' are accessible to children over 115 cm tall.
However, only one slide of the water park in Torre del Mar is not available to children up to 140 cm tall. It is a Kamikaze — slide with a large inclination angle; they can develop incredible speed. But the rest of the slopes are available even to younger students. Ride a paired toboggan down the Rio Rapido, slide on a special sledge along the whimsical curves of Toboggan Colina, and dive into one of the Tirabuzon tunnels. You can also compete in the downhill slides Multipistas and Foam.
On the territory of the water park, there are several cafes and a playground.
