Families with children holidaying in Spain often come to Costa Dorada to visit the Port Aventura theme park and water park. But there are also less popular family holiday destinations in Costa Daurada. The Aqualeon water park, for example, offers plenty of water fun for all ages.
From a distance, the waterpark is already striking with many bright colours — looking at the colourful slides makes you want to have fun. The funniest colours have been chosen for the children's play areas. There are three of them: Mini-Park, Kids' Paradise and Octopus Island. Kids are eager to explore the playground, going down the slides and splashing around in the fountains. Octopus Island is an island set in a pool with artificial waves.
If the children's slides no longer impress your kids, they can try to go down one of the adult slides. There are five slides in the family fun zone. There is the Crazy Race speed slide, the open Speed Boats toboggan slide, the Black Hole tunnel, two Super Slalom looping slides and Rapid River, one of the longest slides in the water park in Costa Dorada.
If you are feeling a little more adrenaline in your bloodstream, then try out one of the extreme slides at Aqualeon: the Kamikaze speed slide, the Anaconda intertwined tubes or the Toloboco ride, where you'll accelerate up a ramp and then sprint down a chute. Those who get dizzy just watching the high falls can swim in the pool and sit on the sun loungers in the green area.
The water park has several cafés with fast food and ice cream. You don't have to eat at a table; you can sit in the picnic area. However, you are not allowed to bring your food and drinks.
Note that the place used to be Aqualeon Water Safari Park, as part of the area was reserved for savannah animals. However, the decision was made to return the lions and antelopes to Afrikaans, and their memory is preserved in the form of soft toys, which are sold in the souvenir shop.
