Alcudia is far from the other resorts in Mallorca, but its entertainment infrastructure keeps tourists busy. One of the best places for families is the HidroPark Alcudia water park. The colourful slides against the azure water beckon for a ride, and a small storm in the artificial wave pool is an invitation to play.
Of the five pools, two are aimed at children. The Minipark is a pool for the little ones, with water levels as low as ankle-deep. Older kids have a good time at the Children's World, where the water is deeper. There are fun little slides, fountains and mushrooms that sprinkle refreshing rain on visitors to both areas.
Another pool is popular with visitors of all ages. The artificial waves make even adults want to fool around. Younger guests can take seats in the shallow end of the pool. Next to this pool is an area for sunbathing, with sun loungers and parasols (chargeable separately).
Almost all of the adult slides at Alcudia Hydro Park are suitable for children. They'll especially love the six colourful slides, the Slice Race, for speedy descents. The slightly higher and longer slides are the Soft Track. One of the two Line&Line chutes can be your child's first giant slide. They are long but gentle, and the descent is smooth and unafraid. It's important to note the high level of safety: the lifeguards are excellent at keeping order among those who want to ride.
However, this water park in Mallorca doesn't offer much excitement for extreme enthusiasts. The Spiral slide may frighten them except for the colouring, like a snake's body painting. But the two Kamikaze slides will raise the adrenaline levels a bit.
The water park offers several other things to do on a bright summer's day in Mallorca. There is a café, ice-cream stands, and a barbecue at the HidroPark, where you can enjoy a mini-golf course set amongst the palm trees or zorb on the water. Bringing food and drinks is not allowed. Guests can enjoy free internet access throughout the park.
Alcudia Water Park is the only water amusement park northeast of the island, so it is always crowded.
