ASU Robotics Camp

United States, Tempe

Overview

ASU Robotics Camp is an exceptional summer program for middle and high school students passionate about science, engineering, and robotics. Hosted at the ASU Brickyard Engineering Building in Tempe, this camp offers a hands-on learning experience that introduces participants to cutting-edge robotics concepts and technologies. The camp is divided into two sessions tailored to different age groups: 7Up RobotCamp: Designed for students entering grades 7-8 (and exceptional 6th graders), this session focuses on foundational skills. Campers will explore programming through the Alice environment, work on 3D animation and game development, and learn EV3 robotics programming. The program culminates in a robotics challenge modeled after FIRST LEGO League competitions. 9Up RobotCamp*: Geared toward students entering grades 9-12, this advanced session covers robot construction, visual programming, C# programming, web development, and phone app programming. Campers will tackle more complex robotics challenges to refine their skills. Both sessions emphasize teamwork as students collaborate to design, build, and program robots. The camps are led by Dr. Yinong Chen, a renowned computing and robotics expert, along with skilled teaching assistants. Participants will also engage in a final robotics competition to showcase their creations. With small class sizes and expert instruction, ASU Robotics Camp provides an immersive environment for students to develop technical skills while fostering creativity and problem-solving abilities. Whether your child is new to robotics or looking to deepen their expertise, this camp promises an exciting and educational summer adventure!
