Immersion Island

United States, Chapel Hill

Overview

For families seeking a summer camp that offers more than just fun in the sun, Immersion Island in Chapel Hill provides a unique opportunity for children to dive into the world of language and culture. Founded by Jennifer de Lima, a seasoned Spanish teacher with over eleven years of experience in Chapel Hill schools, this camp is designed to immerse kids in the Spanish language while fostering a deep appreciation for Latin American culture. Jennifer’s passion for languages is evident in her extensive background—she has lived and worked in Mexico, traveled throughout Latin America, and speaks both Spanish and Portuguese. Her enthusiasm for sharing these languages shines through in every aspect of the camp, making it an engaging and enriching experience for all participants. At Immersion Island, campers are surrounded by the Spanish language from the moment they arrive. Through interactive activities, games, and cultural exploration, children not only learn to speak Spanish but also gain a deeper understanding of the diverse cultures that speak it. Whether your child is just beginning their language journey or already has some experience, this camp provides an immersive environment where they can grow their skills while having a blast. If you're looking for a summer camp that combines language learning with cultural discovery, Immersion Island is the perfect place for your child to broaden their horizons and make unforgettable memories!
