Overview

St. Joseph’s Youth Camp, located in the stunning Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff, Arizona, is where adventure meets personal growth. Celebrating its 75th summer in 2024, this non-denominational nonprofit camp has been a cherished destination for kids and teens since 1949. With its cool mountain air and breathtaking surroundings, it’s the perfect escape from Arizona’s summer heat. For children ages 7–12, the traditional camper weeks are packed with activities like horseback riding, kayaking, archery, hiking, and arts and crafts. Campers also explore STEAM topics, outdoor education, and social-emotional development—all while making lifelong friends and unforgettable memories. Special highlights include campfire nights under the stars and classic games like Capture the Flag. Teens aged 13–15 enjoy an elevated experience during Teen Week, which includes thrilling high ropes courses and ziplining alongside traditional camp activities. This program also introduces leadership and personal development themes, helping teens grow in confidence while having a blast. For those aged 15–17, the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program offers a transformative week of leadership training, communication skills development, and hands-on camp experiences. Participants can return as counselors for additional weeks to put their new skills into action while earning community service hours. With a camper-to-counselor ratio of 4:1 and a dedicated staff trained in CPR and first aid, safety and care are top priorities. Whether it’s roasting s’mores by the fire or kayaking on serene waters, St. Joseph’s Youth Camp promises a summer filled with growth, fun, and memories to last a lifetime.
