Wolfeboro Camp School

Wolfeboro Camp School

United States, Wolfeboro

Overview

Wolfeboro Camp School, a summer academic program steeped in tradition and a love for learning, was born from a simple yet profound vision in 1910. Nestled on the serene Rust Pond, the camp school was the brainchild of George Robins and his fellow educators from The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Over a century later, the camp's legacy remains strong and the Wolfeboro Experience continues to influence countless young lives. The camp school underwent a significant transformation in 1977, becoming a nonprofit entity under the stewardship of a committed group, among them, Mr. William Cooper. A mathematics teacher at Wolfeboro, Cooper stepped up as Director, a role he held for 29 years. His leadership reaffirmed the camp's mission: to empower young minds with the ability to study and learn effectively. The entire summer program, both academic and non-academic, is thoughtfully crafted to promote essential study habits and organizational skills, setting the groundwork for future academic triumphs. Wolfeboro, while deeply rooted in its past, has also embraced the present. The charm of its exceptional lake-side campus remains untouched. It’s enviably positioned to take full advantage of the picturesque Lakes Region of central New Hampshire, the nearby White Mountains, and the New England seacoast. This captivating natural backdrop, coupled with a blend of old and new traditions, engenders a "Season for Success" at Wolfeboro. This success is not limited to students, but extends to the devoted faculty who find satisfaction in returning every summer. The coming summer promises to be another enriching chapter in the Wolfeboro story. It will welcome boys and girls from more than half of the United States and numerous foreign countries, all poised to share the transformative Wolfeboro Experience.
