Overview

The three-star Circus Hotel Aparthotel is part of the Circus Hotel chain and is located in one of Berlin's central districts, Mitte. For families, there are excellent one and two bedroom apartments with fully equipped kitchens. Combined with the spacious rooms, wooden floors and comfortable layout, it is a good substitute for home when travelling. The only drawback is the lack of a bath in the bathroom, which may not be ideal for families with young children.

The Fabisch restaurant-bar on the ground floor means you don't have to spend time cooking. Breakfast is free for children under six and the morning menu includes homemade cereals, jams and marmalades, organic yoghurts, honey and milk, seasonal fruit and vegetables from local farmers. Other restaurants aren't far away either, especially if you use the hotel's bike hire service (which can be fitted with a child seat).

The Fabisch is also a venue for events ranging from music evenings to historical discussions. So an evening at The Circus Hotel can be both fun and rewarding. In addition, the hotel and its partners offer many free walking and bus tours around Berlin. And to ensure that your children's holiday isn't limited to Legoland Discovery Centre and the Berlin Aquarium, when planning your city break, use the C Magazine guide published by the Circus network especially for its guests.

Food and Drink

The Fabisch Restaurant and Bar on the ground floor serves a buffet breakfast to guests of the Circus Hotel. The morning menu includes seasonal fruit and vegetables, honey, milk, yoghurt from local farmers, homemade jams and marmalades, homemade cereals, egg dishes, cold and hot meats, and freshly baked goods.

Breakfast lasts until 1pm, so the authenticity of the food at Fabisch is something even the most die-hard eaters can enjoy. At weekends the kitchen opens an hour later, from 8am, and from 1pm the restaurant switches to a la carte service, serving classic German dishes and its own interpretation. There is a separate children's menu. In the evening, it's worth going up to the rooftop bar, which offers a wonderful view of eastern Berlin.

Opposite the hotel is a café that can easily replace breakfast at the Fabisch. A little further on there are shops, which are handy for stocking up on groceries if you plan to cook your own meals.

Other restaurants and cafes are within walking distance of the hotel, and you can find more tips and advice in C Magazine, published by the Circus hotel chain for its guests.

On-site restaurants and bars:

  • Fabisch Restaurant — Contemporary German cuisine, cocktails
  • Breakfast — 07:00 - 13:00
  • A la carte service — 13:00 - 22:45
