The three-star Hotel Alster Hof has an excellent location on the banks of the Alster, in a relatively quiet area, but still close enough to the centre of Hamburg and its main attractions. It is a great place to stay if you are planning an extensive sightseeing programme with children. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel, the Stephansplatz underground station is a stone's throw away and Hamburg Dammtor train station is 500 metres away. In short, the location is ideal in terms of transport infrastructure.
And if you're not in the mood for an active holiday, or if you're travelling with young children, the park next door and the lakeside promenade are great places to stroll and relax.
The rooms at Alster Hof are small and furnished in a classic or contemporary style. Breakfast is usually included — hearty, with a good selection of fruit and dairy products. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Guests at the Alster-Hof have free access to a modern gym and sauna.
Although the hotel has almost no childcare facilities (apart from the provision of a cot), accommodation with children is always comfortable and convenient for exploring the city.

Pretty nice for the family
