Hotel Bettina Gunzburg

Hotel Bettina Gunzburg

Augsburger Straße 66 + 68, 89312 Günzburg, Germany

Overview

The three-star Bettina is a family-run hotel in the Bavarian town of Günzburg in southern Germany. The LEGOLAND theme park is a 10-minute drive from the hotel, so families with children are among the most frequent guests. There are special larger family rooms with bunk beds, sofa beds and bathrooms with showers.

The room rate includes a buffet breakfast with a typical continental menu. However, it does not include the usual cereals for children — instead there is a wide choice of cereals, milk and even decaffeinated coffee. A 500m walk from Bettina will take you to the historic centre of the town, where you will find a variety of restaurants serving a variety of national cuisines.

There is a supermarket just outside the hotel where you can buy small items such as water and snacks, as well as everyday essentials. If, after a day at LEGOLAND, you are tired of walking around town, the staff will be happy to help you find a taxi, make restaurant reservations or order takeaway.

Of course, the main reason for most families to visit Günzburg is the aforementioned German LEGOLAND. However, the Bettina is not only a budget accommodation option for a trip to this amusement park, but also a convenient location for a trip to southern Bavaria.

Not far from Günzburg, in Leipham, there is the Gartenhallenbad water park and an ostrich farm. The town is only 30 to 40 minutes' drive from the regional centres of Ulm and Augsburg (considered one of the oldest urban settlements in Germany). So while you're in Bettina, don't limit yourself to Legoland, especially if you're travelling with teenagers.

Food and Drink

The family-run Bettina offers a buffet breakfast included in the room rate. The menu is typical of European hotels, with a wide choice of cereals, cheeses, cold cuts, egg dishes, red fish, vegetable and fruit platters, a variety of pastries, juices and hot drinks.

In addition to tea, juices and milk, the morning menu includes decaffeinated coffee. Breakfast is served from 6.30am to 10am in the dining room on the ground floor.

The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but it is only 500-700 metres from Bettina's door to the historic centre, where there are many restaurants and cafes. If you don't feel like going out after a day at Legoland, the staff can help you order takeaway and provide the necessary dishes.

Don't forget to check out the eateries on your walk around LEGOLAND. As well as a wide variety of cuisines, there are also family menus.  For mums bringing their babies, baby food manufacturer HiPP offers a special HiPP Baby Service.
