If you believe that children should be introduced to the world around them and told where simple things like milk, bread, cheese and eggs come from, then you can continue your child's all-round development on holiday in Germany. Lochmuehle amusement park in the picturesque Erlenbach valley is always full of families with children.
This colourful place was once a farm with its own water mill. Today, the original spirit of the park has been fully preserved: not only can you take your children for a walk in the huge, well-kept 16-hectare park, but you can also get to know the animals in the local mini-zoo, visit the cattle farm, see what happens on the farm and, of course, visit the attractions, of which there are many — around a hundred!
As far as active entertainment is concerned, Lochmühle offers roller coasters, merry-go-rounds (including water rides), pony rides, rafting on the local river, trampoline jumps, daring descents down a steep hill, bicycle rides with original wheel shapes, a dry pool with balloons, pedal cars for children and an autodrome for older children. In other words, Lohmühle is a big playground for children of all ages.
The park also has its own agricultural trail: children and their parents visit a farm, a barn, a vegetable farm, walk through an orchard and learn about the ripening process and what to do when it is time to harvest. Some areas are visited by tractor. In the farm, children can meet farm animals such as calves, foals, goats, pigs and sheep. The park's youngest guests can pet and feed the animals.
Saalburg is only 5 km from the park. Visit it also with children.
Are you at Lochmühle amusement park on a sunny day? That's great! Why not take the children for a picnic? The grounds of Lochmuehle are well laid out with plenty of pavilions, barbecues and barbecue areas for a relaxing break. If the weather is bad that day, that's fine too. You can use the indoor play centre.
The park also has a history trail, which introduces young visitors to ancient Roman life. Along the way you'll come across an ancient fortress and other ancient Roman defences. Limenes, the ancient Roman fortification system stretching between Germany and Galia, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The landscaped grounds of the Lohmuehle theme park are literally bursting with greenery and bright colours. You can spend an entire day here and be filled with positive emotions.
