An excursion programme for children is sure to include a carefree holiday, such as a trip to a theme park. If you are in Germany, be sure to visit Europa-Park, which offers a wide range of entertainment for all tastes.

Here you can do the impossible. For example, you can travel through fifteen European countries in an hour simply by choosing your mode of transport — an old-fashioned steam train or a modern high-speed express train while flying over the earth — and taking a trip through the park, which is divided into zones — countries.

Each mini land has its own colour and attractions. Imagineers will want to visit the Enchanted Forest or Chocolate Land, while the little ones can go straight to Kid's World.

There are more than 100 great rides: roller coasters, merry-go-rounds, boat rides and more. But it's all made even more exciting by the special atmosphere created in the park.

The park has it all merry mice and fierce Vikings, dreamy elves and dashing pirates, live ducks and lifelike (albeit fake) dinosaurs. Fairytales come alive at every turn, with characters from Hans Christian Andersen, the Brothers Grimm and fairy tales inviting children to play.

Here you can take a shopping trolley on a quest for the dwarf's treasure, or watch Grandma Blizzard whip up her snowy feather bed then warm, soapy foam snow falls from the sky.

Older children will love the fairytale rides too giant teacups will appeal to Alice in Wonderland fans, for example.  But there are also some more relaxed rides where the designers have added a dash of humour. For example, a quiet rafting trip down a lazy river can be livened up by firing water cannons at a neighbouring raft and getting splashed back.

For the more extreme, there is always something to tickle your fancy. Rollercoaster rides in the dark amidst lightning, rumbling carriages accelerating to 100km/h, a near plunge down a roaring waterfall, disorientation on the Curse of Cassandra ride are just some of the many breathtaking attractions.

Another popular amusement park that is located in Germany is Legoland. It is definitely worth a visit with children.
