Turibus Alicante

Turibus Alicante

Spain, Alicante

What is the easiest way to see the sights of Alicante? Take the Turibus Alicante tourist bus, which will allow you to travel around all the city's main sights in one day, get off at the desired stop and again take any other transport of the same type without buying additional tickets!

That is also a great option if you came to the city with children — at any time, you can get off the bus and take a walk, sit on the next one or go home if the baby is naughty.

So, you buy a ticket for the Alicante tourist bus and get the opportunity to go around the picturesque streets of the old central part of the city. The starting departure is from the city centre, next to Sea Square.

On the way, the bus makes ten stops, each of which you can get off to go shopping, cafes or other exciting places. After that, with your previously purchased ticket, you can get on another bus from the same company at any stop on the route and continue your journey.

But remember: the ticket is valid for one day, so you won’t be able to continue exploring the city on it for the second day. At the entrance, each tourist receives headphones and can use an audio guide in six languages. English, German, Spanish, Valencian, French and Italian are available.

Bus route

The Turibus Alicante bus leaves from Sea Square near the Postiguet beach. There are ten stops on the route, which are listed below.

  1. The first stop is called "Sea Port" (Puerta del Mar), located in front of the Melia Alicante Hotel. Then the bus follows along the embankment.
  2. MARQ MUSEO ARQUEOLOGICO ALICANTE — the archaeological museum of the city. If you wish, you can get off the bus and visit it. He has been awarded many prizes and is informative, so it's still worth visiting.
  3. CASTILLO SANTA BARBARA — the fortress of Santa Barbara, which is the main attraction of Alicante. You can spend the whole day there looking at the exhibitions. At the top you will find an excellent observation deck.
  4. MERCADO CENTRAL — two-level central market. It is time to get off here if you want to shop for fresh produce. You will find meat, fish, jamon, flowers, and much more in the market.
  5. PLAZA DE LUCEROS — Luceros Square. At this stop is the terminus of the Alicante metro station.
  6. FEDERICO SOTO / EL CORTE INGLES. Here is one part of the city's largest shopping centre, called "El Corte Ingles". The second part of it is located on Maisonnave Avenue.
  7. AVDA MAISONNAVE / EL CORTE INGLES — Maisonnave Avenue / El Corte Inglés. The second part of a large shopping center.
  8. AVDA OSCAR ESPLA / "LA VERDAD". This stop is attractive due to the massive fountain in the centre of the square. The city's railway station is also located nearby.
  9. AVDA CONDE VALLELLANO. You can see the port of ships departing for the island of Tabarca.
  10. ZONA VOLVO. Getting off at this stop, you can visit the Volvo Museum dedicated to yachters and the regatta and walk along the beach to the pier with restaurants.

Buses leave every 1 hour. Accordingly, the interval between transport at stops takes the same time. This time is enough to look into several museums on the way and return to the stop. Such an excursion will not tire children; you can get to know the city.
