Crocodile Park Torremolinos

Crocodile Park Torremolinos

Spain, Torremolinos

Many activities in Costa del Sol are related to Africa. So the African village in Torremolinos will immediately interest those who love unusual excursions. There are crocodiles, not people, living in this village. This excursion is for the most daring or at least the most curious children. If your child is one of these, welcome to the Crocodile Park in Torremolinos.

Crocodiles are thought to have appeared on Earth 250 million years ago, predating the dinosaurs. These prehistoric monsters are closely related to birds — but would you attribute any of the qualities of birds to them? Toothy carnivores are neither beautiful nor kind. However, they live in places where no one can admire them, and they take their place in nature.

Crocodile Park is home to around 300 crocodiles and alligators. There are different species of these reptiles, including the largest of the species, the crested crocodile. Paco, the resident of the farm, is the largest in Europe, measuring over 5 metres in length. You can also see the New Guinea crocodile, the Philippine crocodile, the Gharial, and the Mississippi alligator. The animals are kept in spacious enclosures and can be viewed from a distance of 2 metres.

Several times a day, there is a crocodile show. All visitors come to look at this, so we advise you to sit at the enclosure in advance. Crocodiles' main talent is the ability to turn from clumsy animals into fast and dexterous hunters at the sight of food. They catch chicken carcasses on the fly, and the chattering of teeth heard simultaneously causes more horror than delight ... The rest of the tricks demonstrate the courage of trainers: they drag predators by the tail or put their hand in a toothy mouth.

But there is one safe trick that an unprepared visitor can do. The crocodile farm in Torremolinos provides the opportunity to take pictures with a baby crocodile. You can safely pick up a small crocodile and scare your grandparents with this photo. In addition to crocodiles, turtles, emus, peacocks, and wild ducks live in the park.

Aqualand Torremolinos is 200 meters from the Crocodile Farm. You can buy a combined ticket to the farm and the water park.
