Casa de Campo Park is the largest recreational area in the Spanish capital. Amongst other things, there is a large amusement park here. And as good as Madrid's other attractions are, children will never turn down a fun day. The park has 36 rides, several shows, shops with toys and sweets. And the very first attraction might be the cable car in Madrid which takes you straight to the park.
The Casa de Campo amusement park is oriented towards giving pleasure to all family members. There are no less than a dozen family rides of all kinds, from merry-go-rounds to roller coasters. This can be a trip on a toy boat along the coasts of 14 countries inhabited by moving puppets or a real rafting trip down a tropical river. The Cueva de las Tarántulas ride will have you shooting off giant spiders (it's less scary when the whole family is shooting at them), and the Telesaurio will have you flying on the backs of prehistoric winged lizards.
A Nickelodeonland entertainment zone has been created for the park's younger guests. Cartoon characters surround children on rides and participate in shows. Here you can enter Bikini Bottom, the home of SpongeBob (in Casa de Campo, the town serves as a playground). It's not without fun fountains, so take care of a change of clothes for your child.
Teenagers and adults who like dizzying fun can try the insane Abismo rollercoaster, La Lanzadera free-fall tower, Star Flyer carousel that soars 80 metres high and other rides. Among the shows that will suit thrill-seekers is The Walking Dead. It starts after dark and is not suitable for children.|
To ensure you don't have to look for rides right for your family, the amusement park offers several different itineraries. These can be found on the park's website. For example, one of the itineraries recommends a selection of attractions for families with children under seven years old, another for children aged 8 to 12, and a third is suitable if you come to the park with teenagers.
This amusement park in Madrid also cares for parents with tiny babies. There is a baby feeding room, and the ladies toilets have changing tables. The entertainment park has several cafes and plenty of burgers, ice cream and drink stands. And nearby is Madrid Zoo.
