AJ Meerwald Maritime Camps

United States, Port Norris

Overview

Embark on an unforgettable maritime journey with the AJ Meerwald Maritime Camps. These ventures are more than just a summer escape; they're an opportunity for your child to become a bona fide sailor, navigating the waves on the majestic schooner A.J. Meerwald. These five-day, four-night adventures are specifically designed for young seafarers aged 13-16. As part of the crew, your child will experience the thrill and responsibility of raising and furling sails, coiling lines, and steering this historic tall ship. From the rhythmic sway of sea chanteys to the camaraderie of standing watch, your child will absorb all the nuances of life on a tall ship. Each camp journey holds its own charm. The first sees the young crew departing from Bivalve, NJ, and sailing up the Atlantic Coast, presenting the iconic Statue of Liberty as a crowning end-point. The second camp sets sail from Liberty State Park, charting a course down the Atlantic Coast, with the adventure concluding in the picturesque harbor of Cape May, NJ. Immerse your child in the timeless traditions of maritime life on board the AJ Meerwald. They won't just be attending a summer camp; they'll be stepping into a seafaring saga that's as educational as it is exhilarating. So, hoist the main sail, let the sea breeze fill their hair, and watch as they become part of a vibrant maritime legacy.
