Overview
Into the Woods Alaska offers a series of outdoor education and adventure courses for youth aged 12-15, providing an immersive experience in Alaska's stunning wilderness. Based in Anchorage, the program focuses on fostering leadership, outdoor skills, and environmental stewardship through multi-day backpacking and wilderness expeditions.
The 2025 offerings include weekly Monday-to-Friday courses and up to three overnight wilderness programs. Activities cover essential outdoor topics such as basic wilderness safety, first aid, hiking, paddling, and rock climbing. Participants will also learn leadership skills and teamwork while exploring Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes.
While the camp has scaled back its usual daily summer programs for younger children this year, it remains committed to delivering high-quality, hands-on experiences for teens. Whether trekking through alpine trails or mastering the basics of mountaineering, campers leave with enhanced confidence, skills, and a deeper appreciation for nature.
For teens ready to embrace adventure and personal growth in the heart of Alaska’s wild beauty, Into the Woods Alaska promises an unforgettable summer filled with exploration and learning.
