Safety

Safety is central to every activity at Long Beach Sea Base. The camp follows strict BSA safety protocols and waterfront supervision standards. Certified instructors and lifeguards are always present during aquatic activities, ensuring that campers are never left unattended on or near the water.

All campers wear appropriate life jackets and receive safety briefings before every session. The staff-to-camper ratio is intentionally low to maintain individualized attention and quick response times. Emergency action plans and safety drills are practiced regularly to reinforce preparedness. Parents can rest easy knowing that the Sea Base team is highly trained in youth protection, first aid, and CPR.

Camp Traditions

Long Beach Sea Base celebrates the best of coastal camp life. Each week ends with a showcase where campers demonstrate their new sailing or boating skills—a proud moment for everyone. Friendships form fast on the docks, and laughter fills the bay as teams work together to conquer waves and currents.

Though it’s a skill-based camp, traditions like “captain for the day,” team challenges, and end-of-week recognition make the experience personal and rewarding. Every camper leaves with sea stories, stronger confidence, and maybe even a newfound passion for sailing.
