If you come here with a young child, take them straight to the Mouse Museum, which is aimed at the youngest explorers. The specialists who work in this area tell the little ones science stories in a playful way, which is very interesting in itself. The area covers 1,25,000 square metres and there is plenty to see and do for young children.
The rest of the leisure and cultural centre is designed for older children of pre-school and primary school age. Here kids play an interactive science game that seamlessly combines fun and learning about science and technology.
A museum dedicated to Harry Potter is always packed with children of all ages. The cultural phenomenon that is the film version of J.K. Rowling's novels has captured the hearts and minds of half the world's children. Fans of the boy wizard can learn all the secrets of filming the iconic series by visiting the area. Go behind the scenes with lots of curious onlookers just like you!
Your child will be just as excited to try their hand at a flight simulator. Climb into the cockpit of a Cessna aircraft, take the controls and enjoy a bird's eye view of the sights of Cologne! In the astronaut training room, your child's equilibrium can be tested to make sure it can withstand the bouncing, twisting and rolling. The space simulator is suitable for children aged 8 and over and a minimum height of 130 cm.
Is your child crazy about the Jurassic period? Great: The Dinosaur Zone is waiting for them! Big, realistic and not at all scary ancient lizards. In the 3D cinema, you and your little traveller can watch 3D films about space and the ocean. Amazing special effects will blow your mind. The climbing wall teaches children how to climb a vertical surface, developing strength, stability and balance. And in the excavation area, young archaeologists can try their hand at digging for ancient artefacts and animal remains.
But that's not all! There is a dynamo station, water experiments and a water landscape area, a studio where children can learn about physics and physical phenomena, a rope room and even a space toilet!
By the way, if you're bringing your child to the Odysseum in your own car, we recommend you park at a nearby shopping centre (e.g. Bauhaus) — parking is free there.
