The Teleferico cable car started operating in 1969. It was built by the Swedish company Von-Rol. Every few minutes, a cable car leaves the station in the centre of the capital and travels a distance of 2.5 km. The Madrid Cable Car has 80 cabins, each with a capacity of up to 5 passengers.
