What is a vacation with a child in Spain without visiting one of the primary children's joys — a water park? The city of Lloret de Mar has its water world, full of all sorts of slides and rides. Here, your family is waiting for a variety of entertainment, for which a whole day will not be enough. However, let's go in order.
Water World has attractions for all ages. For the youngest visitors to the entertainment centre, there's an island with its pirate ship and plenty of slides, ladders, hydro-arcs, water guns, geysers and swings.
There are warm, shallow paddling pools and animators to ensure children's entertainment throughout the play area. In other words, everything is made for the comfort of children up to 6 years old.
If you send your little one to the children's island, you don't have to worry about them: experienced animators dressed as pink hippos will look after and entertain the young visitor to the waterpark. Children are always within sight of the water park staff. Meanwhile, parents and older children can indulge in more extreme entertainment...
One of the most incredible rides Water World Waterpark in Lloret de Mar has to offer is Water Mountain, a classic waterslide. It is 250 metres long and is full of twists, climbs and dark areas. You can go down this slide on a double lap. The Kamikaces slide is another classic of the aquatic entertainment centre. It is accessible only for the most daring and adventurous: when going down the 77-metre-long slide, you can reach 60 km/h speeds!
The downhill, called X-Treme Mountain, is 260 metres long. It is rafted by a boat that can fit two people simultaneously. It takes only 2 minutes to go downhill. The Storm slide is a unique concept in Lloret de Mar water park. The slide is an enclosed tube that is around 80 metres long. It exits into a funnel with a whirlpool of 4 metres in diameter.
Rafting enthusiasts are invited to visit the Rafting River, one of the largest rafting attraction in Europe. You can go there as a family or with a group of your friends. The river is 215 metres long, and you can go rafting in a round four-seater boat. The 155-metre trip is made in complete darkness.
There are two Speed Furious slides for free-fall lovers. It's a virtually vertical slide; only the most daring travellers can make it through! Another family slide, the Speed Slides, allows for a real first-place race. It combines six downhill slides with a traffic light at the end to indicate the winner.
Finally, those who like a slow, long and quiet ride will love the Water Gegant slide. The constant current will carry you at a low speed through the water park, and you won't want your journey to have a logical end.
It's worth mentioning that 40 km from this water park, in the Spanish resort town of Playa de Aro, there's another major water fun centre, Aquadiver, which we also recommend for children.
