Santa Isabel Europa-Park Hotel

Santa Isabel Europa-Park Hotel

Europa-Park-Str. 4+6 | 77977 Rust, Germany

Overview

The four-star Santa Isabel Europa-Park Hotel is located on the grounds of Europa-Park, Europe's largest theme park. It is the newest and most compact of the themed hotels that make up the 'Spanish' Park Hotel complex. Built in the style of a medieval Portuguese monastery, the building resembles a monastery, and not just from the outside.

The cell-like rooms differ from the original prototypes only in the comfort of the bathrooms and access to modern amenities. The bunk beds, a feature of all the theme hotels in the park, are closed by wooden doors and look like normal wardrobes. The ornate tiled bathroom in most rooms is not combined with a toilet.

One of Santa Isabel's two restaurants serves a buffet, including a dietary and vegetarian menu. In the morning, the park's mascot, Euromyshonok, and his friends come to wish the little ones a good day at breakfast. A visit to the neighbouring Castillo Alcazar and El Andaluz is a great way to sample the cuisine of Spanish señors and monks.

Early entry to the park for hotel guests avoids queues for some of the rides. If you remember to bring your swimsuit, you can spend a day at the pool, the slides at Castillo Alcazar and the Santa Isabel spa instead of the park. All the more so as the guests of the complex can enjoy all these pleasures free of charge.

And don't forget the evening shows and children's discos in the outdoor area. After all, that's what tourists come to Europa Park to experience.

Food and Drink

There is a restaurant and bar on site, which is only open during the park season. The Sala Santa Isabel restaurant serves a buffet breakfast in the morning.

It includes the usual items such as cereals, pastries, marmalade, dried fruit and yoghurt, as well as hot dishes, which are served on a separate table.

In the evenings at Sala Santa Isabel, the chef prepares barbecues on request in the open-plan kitchen, using fresh herbs from the restaurant's gardens. In addition to the indoor dining area, there is an outdoor terrace.

If the Sala Santa Isabel is more of a public room, the Beer Cellar, under heavy stone vaults, is reminiscent of a monastery refectory. Large wooden tables and benches, candles on the tables, staff in monk's robes serving the beer brewed here — a reminder of the days when the shady abbots brewed strong, hearty beers to stave off hunger during Lent.

The neighbourhood of Castillo Alcazar and El Andaluz allows guests of Santa Isabel to go beyond the services of their own hotel, even when choosing restaurants for lunch or dinner. If you don't want to eat out, Spanish cuisine can be sampled at one of the neighbouring hotels. A little further on, at the Hotel Colosseo, you'll find a good selection of Italian restaurants.

And when you need a break from the day's entertainment, the best places to eat are the restaurants and cafes around the park. See the website (http://europapark.de/en/park/food-and-beverage-europa-park) for a full list of eateries. The Aldi supermarket near Europa Park is a good place to pick up food and water at a relatively reasonable price.
